Train the Trainer and Competent Person Refresher
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program is a blended training program for students that have taken both the Train the Trainer and Competent Person courses. A large number of Gravitec students have taken both the Competent Person and Train the Trainer courses to develop in-depth knowledge of fall protection and workplace safety. Here at Gravitec, we recognized the difficulty of having to maintain two certifications with two separate refresher courses and decided to simplify the recertification process. This five-day training course allows students to refresh their knowledge and skills for two separate certifications in a single week rather than attending multiple refresher courses.
The course combines training elements that are common to all certifications (harness, fall distance, clearances, etc.) and uses a combination of challenge tests and exercises to confirm foundational knowledge. The course then moves into competent person elements (hazard identification, compliance, standards) finishing the week with trainer and rescue elements. Trainer materials are updated (books, presentations, documentation) and new standards and regulations are reviewed throughout the week, including current fall protection standards found in the ANSI/ASSE Z359 Fall Protection Code, enabling the trainers to continue delivering up-to-date, professional, in-house fall protection and rescue training.
Written and practical tests are administered to ensure that the principles presented in the course are understood. Documentation is available to satisfy your company’s due diligence and regulatory requirements.
It should be noted that we believe, in accordance with ANSI/ASSE Z359.2, that every job site’s Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program should have a Program Administrator and a Competent Person.
This course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training (ANSI/ASSE Z490.1), the highest industry standard for training and is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
