Overhand Knot

The overhand knot (also called the thumb knot) is usually used as a stopper knot to terminate the working end of a rope. It significantly reduces rope strength and should not be used in a load-bearing system.

Directions
Form a small loop. Pass the end of the rope through the loop. Tighten and dress.
