Consulting

Gravitec leads the industry in all aspects of fall protection consulting, including fall hazard evaluation, systems design, research, standards development, and construction and inspection of fall protection systems. We also offer fall protection expert witness testimony and fall protection litigation support. No matter how complicated or challenging your specific fall protection needs are, we can help you,  and consulting is often the first step to the solution.

Design

Gravitec supplies pre-engineered fall protection systems from a number of fall protection system manufacturers. Before we make the decision to support a manufacturer’s products, we ensure that they meet or exceed the high standards already set by our engineering staff and management. Our clients can feel confident that if Gravitec supplies a pre-engineered fall protection system, it will meet all applicable standards and regulatory requirements, as well as pass our stringent criteria. Sometimes there is not a pre-engineered system that will work. Our staff of full-time engineers are highly trained specialists in the field, affording them the ability to design unique fall protection systems that other companies

Fabrication

Gravitec can fabricate any fall protection system in our fabrication/weld shop. We have relationships with top metal fabrication shops in the US and Canada allowing us to construct systems in convenient locations.

Installation

We install the systems we design, as well as pre-engineered fall protection systems. All products are thoroughly vetted by our team to ensure they meet or exceed our high standards. Gravitec installers are trained in fall protection, rope access and rescue techniques. We are keenly aware that our fall protection systems are in place to save lives and that ensuring the quality of an installation ensures the safety of the people connected to our systems. Our installation crews are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and tools to ensure that the job will be executed safely, quickly and professionally.

Inspection

To be reliable, fall protection and rescue equipment must be regularly serviced and inspected. Some equipment may be exposed to harsh or damaging environments while others may be unused for extended periods. Gravitec’s independent inspection services help our clients keep their equipment in good working order and compliant with the most current regulations and standards. Equipment may be sent to Gravitec for detailed, documented inspections performed according to manufacturer instructions. Written findings are forwarded to our clients for proof of inspection. For larger inspections, Gravitec can send the inspector(s) to your site. They can inspect and record approximately 15 to 20 soft good items (lanyards, harnesses, anchor straps, etc.) an hour. Besides keeping fall protection equipment in good order, Gravitec’s inspections also enable our clients to track equipment purchases and perform cost analyses. Inspections offer a history of each piece which allows employers to gauge value versus cost for that type of gear. Gravitec also has competent and qualified Fall Protection engineers that can inspect any fall protection system. We provide an inspection that gives our customers peace of mind that the system will perform as expected.

Fall Protection Solutions

As fall protection specialists, our engineers are an invaluable resource for any company wanting to properly protect its employees. We provide one-of-a-kind solutions to even the most complex fall protection challenges. To highlight some of the more unique situations, we created our “Unique Challenges, Innovative Solutions” materials, which detail the problems, solutions, and end result of these projects.

Specifications

Existing fall protection specifications consistently contain outdated standards, conflicting standards and/or vague information. By the time these issues are identified, the project is out to bid and it is often too late to correct. As a result of these repeated issues, Gravitec spent a year developing current best practice construction specifications for the majority of generic and manufactured horizontal lifelines, rigid rails and anchor posts. These specifications are available here on our site.
