The Engineering Department plays a crucial role in connecting our customers to our full suite of offerings. Fall Protection Installers work closely with the Installation Supervisor, Senior Installation Technician or Project Manager assisting in fabrication and installation efforts to ensure that the client deliverable meets Gravitec’s standards of quality. Fall Protection Installers collaborate with our engineering team to install custom fall protection systems for our clients domestically throughout the United States. Our Installers are familiar working with a variety of materials such as wood, steel and concrete in unique environments and settings. The systems we create, the technology we use, and innovations we embrace help position Gravitec Fall Protection installers as experts in the fall protection industry.
In this position, you will travel approximately 50% of the time. You will travel both individually and with a team. This requires excellent communication skills and a professional appearance as you will meet regularly with clients and their representatives. This also requires an individual that can think outside the box and is good at taking direction. - Understand the scope of work, job descriptions, materials, tools required, etc. of assigned projects.
- Attend and participate in project installation planning process.
- Assist with confirming all required materials are available and ready.
- Assist in ensuring inventory is monitored and documented correctly when received and used.
- Generate site specific safety documents.
- Traveling to client location for installations and inspections of fall protection systems.
- Assist layout and set up of the job.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace and report any incidents.
- Install equipment in a quality and timely manner, always keeping safety in mind.
- Perform fall protection inspections.
- Assist solving job-related problems and ensure project success.
- Assist ensuring all standards are met to the customers’ satisfaction and within the scope of work.
- Adhere to Gravitec’s fall protection standards, safety programs, policies and quality standards.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and submit on time.
- Attend required fall protection and safety training.
- Always implement safety. Recognize unsafe situations and take corrective action.
- Assist in the organization of the shop and warehouse, workspaces, hardware, and raw materials to ensure consistent and effective workflow and execution of orders delivered accurate and on-time to the customer.
- Collaborate with other departments and support sales efforts.
- Maintain all required training and certifications.
- Provide suggestions to management regarding improvements and increased efficiencies in Gravitec’s operations.
- Knowledgeable in applicable federal and state guidelines and requirements.
- Proficient in current industry software including MS Office.
- Proficient in fall protection, rescue, and rigging techniques.
- Proficient with hand and specialty tools.
- Knowledgeable in steel fabrication, fall protection installation and testing.
- Proficient working with a variety of materials such as wood, steel, and concrete in a construction setting.
- Competitive hourly compensation between $24 – $30 depending on experience.

Desired Qualifications (may be achieved after hire):
- Competent Person training.
- OSHA 30 or higher training.
- Rope access training.
- Rescue training.
- Current CPR/First Aid training.
